A brief history of the name Sol2Charon. The name is based on the name of our star Sol (the sun) and the name of what was the most distant planetary body (currently semi-planetary) in our planetary system, Charon, Pluto's moon, at least some of the time since Neptune is from time to time the farthest planet from Sol. Interestingly the names also are in some ways related to the afterlife, Charon was the ferryman that took souls (Sol) across the river Styx (Acheron) in ancient mythology for their final respite in the hereafter. Sort of a play on the words soul to Charon.
